Morocco could lose their most creative midfielder Amine Harit to injury with just days remaining until the World Cup.
Harit’s moment of horror came in the 57th minute when he collapsed in a heap after a challenge from Marseille defender Axel Disasi. The gravity of the injury was made clear by both his teammates' and opponents’ reactions to the injury.
The 25-year-old had to be stretchered out after extensive treatment for the knee injury, and now his participation for Morocco in Qatar is in major jeopardy.
Harit had already played 16 times for Marseille this season and was a mainstay in the side currently 4th in the Ligue 1 before getting injured

Barely three days before getting injured, Harit made comments about players being too careful on the pitch while trying to avoid getting injured and being ruled out of the World Cup, and it appears they have now come back to haunt him.
“It’s by giving it your all that you avoid injuries. If you get hurt in the last game, it’s destiny and it was meant to be”.
Those were Harit’s exact words, and unfortunately, it appears he was right.
Morocco’s World Cup in jeopardy
Without Harit, Morocco’s already slim chances of reaching the second round of the World Cup have gotten even slimmer.
They face European giants Belgium and Croatia, as well as dark horses Canada in Group F, and would have needed their best players to stand any chance of going further than they did in the 2018 World Cup when they exited at the group stage.
With Harit injured, their qualification is now in as much jeopardy as his knee.
They still have the creative talents of Hakim Ziyech who recently came out of retirement, as well as Sofiane Boufal going to Qatar and they’ll be praying that this would be enough in Harit’s absence.
