Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has revealed he wants to win his maiden Africa Cup of Nations title with Egypt after a man of the match display against Newcastle United on Monday night.
Salah scored two goals and provided an assist to help the league leaders get all the three points and is now going to link up with his teammates in time for the AFCON which commences on January 15.
The left-footed winger said it “means alot” to play for Egypt and the feeling he gets donning a Pharaohs shirt is something he could not take “for granted”.

Nigeria have massively underwhelmed since winning the trophy in 2013, incluing failing to qualify for back-to-back tournaments in 2015 and 2017.
“Without me, I am sure the players will win the games," said a bullish Salah.
“We have fantastic players, really good qualities and they just need to keep the pressure away, just play the football and I think anyone can play in my position, anyone can do what I am doing.
“The system is good and everyone just needs to feel free to express themselves.”
