CAF Women's Champions League final pits Mamelodi Sundowns against Sporting Club Casablanca, promising a historic clash with substantial prize money.

On Sunday night, the CAF Women's Champions League will reach its pinnacle as former champions Mamelodi Sundowns square off against debutants Sporting Club Casablanca at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Ivory Coast.

This highly anticipated final of Africa's premier women's club competition is scheduled to kick off at 8 PM (EAT), promising an exciting showdown for fans worldwide.

Now in its third edition, the CAF Women's Champions League has emerged as a beacon of success in the continental body's efforts to develop women's football in Africa.

But what truly elevates the stakes in this thrilling final is the substantial prize money awaiting the victors.

The winners of the CAF Women's Champions League will walk away with an impressive USD 400,000 (equivalent to Ksh 60,621,840), a prize that not only reflects their skill and dedication but also recognizes the growing importance of women's football in the global sports landscape.

Meanwhile, the runners-up will not leave empty-handed as they are set to pocket a respectable USD 250,000 (equivalent to Ksh37,888,650).

Sundowns, no strangers to the grand stage, have consistently showcased their prowess in the CAF Women's Champions League.

Having reached the finals in both 2021 and 2022 editions, they secured the inaugural title in 2021 and narrowly missed out on retaining their crown in 2022 after a hard-fought battle against another Moroccan side, ASFAR.

On the opposite side of the pitch, Sporting Club Casablanca is making history as they step into their first-ever CAF Women's Champions League final.

Their remarkable journey to this stage was highlighted by a thrilling draw of 2-2 against Ghana's Ampem Darkoa, culminating in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout that propelled them into the final.

Regrettably, Kenyan champions Vihiga Queens fell short of reaching the 2023 Champions League after being eliminated in the CECAFA Zonal qualifiers.

Their dreams of continental conquest were dashed by Ethiopia's Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC (CBE FC) in the semi-finals of the zonal qualifiers.

The championship match will be broadcast live on various television stations globally, ensuring that football enthusiasts do not miss a minute of the action.

Viewers can catch the game on channels such as beIN Sport, Canal+, SABC, AZAM, SNRT, and many others. Additionally, CAF TV's YouTube page will provide a global live stream, allowing fans to watch the game from anywhere in the world.
