Former Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed which teams he would want in the UEFA Champions League final this season.

The one-time UCL winner had the honour of being the guest for the quarter-final draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

Mikel, who also shared his experience of going all the way to lift the trophy in 2012, is one of the few Nigerian players alongside Finidi George and Kanu Nwankwo to have won the competition.

‘I want an English club in the final’

Moments before making the draws, Mikel was asked which teams he felt would make it into the final. He responded with a smile on his face saying, “The final will hold in Wembley, England so i would like an English club to make it into the final”

“I hope Manchester City or Arsenal make it,"  he added.

An interesting UCL quarter-final draw outcome

After the questions, it was time for Mikel Obi to make the picks, and he certainly delivered some mouth-watering matchups.

Arsenal were first out of the bowl, as they were pitted against regular foes, Bayern Munich. Next up was Atletico Madrid, who will go up against German side Borussia Dortmund.

A repeat of last year’s semi-final was next as Manchester City got Real Madrid, while French side PSG, will play against Barcelona.

The route to the final was also drawn with the winner of Arsenal/Bayern Munich having to face the victors between City and Real Madrid, while the winner of the tie between Atletico and Dortmund will face whoever wins between PSG and Barcelona.
