A lot will be at stake in the FKF Premier League on Wednesday with AFC Leopards looking to end Kenya Police’s faint title hopes while Shabana and Muhoroni look to retain top flight status.

Kenyan football fans are in for a treat with six FKF Premier League matches lined up on Wednesday as the season enters its homestretch.

The highlight match of the day will see on-form Kenya Police visit AFC Leopards in what is an audition for the FKF Cup semi-final that will see both teams square off later this month.

Kenya Police are the form team of the league after winning their last seven games in all competitions have joint top scorer Tito Okello (15 goals) in their ranks who has also netted seven goals in his last five games.

With Police still with faint hopes of challenging Gor Mahia for the title, and Leopards looking to finish in the top four, the match promises to be a cracker.

Meanwhile, relegation-threatened Shabana will aim to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Gor Mahia by looking for maximum points against free falling FC Talanta.

Shabana had been on a four-match unbeaten run before Gor Mahia silenced them but with Talanta winning just one of their last 10 games, these are the kind of matches Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo’s men will feel they can win to ease their relegation fears.

Elsewhere, Kakamega Homeboyz can all but end Nzoia Sugar’s stay in the top flight when they host the sugar millers in Mumias.

Homeboyz have not been on a great run of form, going six games without a win, but Nzoia presents them with an opportunity to collect maximum points given they have only managed four wins in 29 matches this season.

In Muhoroni, hosts Muhoroni Youth are also starring down the barrel and need to pick up wins quickly, starting with their game against Bandari while Murang’a Seal are at home to Kariobangi Sharks.

Sharks are off a big win after their 5-2 thrashing of Sofapaka on Saturday, when striker John Makwata scored four goals, and their hosts will need to be wary of the ex-Ulinzi Stars and AFC Leopards striker.

Meanwhile, ninth-placed Bidco United will host 13th-placed Ulinzi who have been below par this season.
