Tusker were held to a 0-0 draw by Nicholas Muyoti's Nairobi City Stars on Wednesday.

Tusker FC head coach, Robert Matano has berated his side for their lack of urgency and "not wanting to win” during their 0-0 draw against Nairobi City Stars in a league match played at the Ruaraka grounds on Wednesday afternoon.

Tusker were unable to break down a spirited City Stars, who also put them under some amount of pressure throughout the game.

“We did not play well and we did not take chances in the first 20 minutes,” he said, “ we did not have any urgency. We were not composed in terms of build up and attacking. We were not complete anywhere,” he added.

“We did not have any urgency to win the game. Our missed opportunities cost us. If you do not score you do not win.”

The match saw Matano make some unusual calls, including dropping forward Eric Orieno and playing defensive midfielder Rodgers Ouma in an unorthodox left wing role. Quizzed about the decision to make those calls, Matano said that the fixture congestion of the league meant he was left with no choice

“It is all rotation. Fatigue is high. We had to rotate players. It is difficult to play against teams that are fighting relegation. We got a point which is not good for us in the title race, but at least we got a point.”

The point now means Tusker remain second on 58 points, four behind league leaders Gor Mahia with six games left to play,
