Lionel Messi mobbed by fans after Inter Miami unveiling

After being unveiled at DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday night, Lionel Messi was mobbed by Inter Miami fans as he was being transported away.

The Argentine was presented to the Inter Miami supporters after joining the club on a free transfer from PSG.

Once Messi was introduced to the crowd in Fort Lauderdale, fans lined up at the stadium's exit from the parking lot in an effort to get a glimpse of him.

The World Cup winner waved to the crowd as he left the stadium with many of his fans chasing after his car.

On Sunday, the Argentinian's transfer to Inter Miami became official when he was introduced in front of a large audience.

After the unveiling, the 36-year-old was seen leaving the event in one of a number of the vehicles that brought him.

As seen in a video and reported by Daily Mail, fans went into a frenzy when they realised the Argentinian was in the back of a black automobile.

A lot of fans were seen around the stadium and around the vehicle as they went after the Argentine while leaving the stadium.

Inter Miami co-owner has hoped that Mesi’s transfer to Major League Soccer will revolutionise American soccer. 

On Sunday night, Jorge Mas spoke to the 20,000 spectators who had packed the DRV PNK Stadium saying, "When David and I first met and we dreamt of what Inter Miami represents, it started off with the freedom to dream.

“And we dreamed of not only bringing elite players and the best players but the best player to ever don boots — and his name is Lionel Andres Messi.

“Tonight is a gift and celebration to the city that opened its arms to my family. Tonight we are doing this in the rain.

Messi will wear the number 10 jersey for Inter Miami and will play his first game on Friday against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
