Desire Oparanozie appears to have put the rumoured beef with her former Super Falcons teammate Asisat Oshoala behind her.

Super Falcons legend Desire Oparanozie has moved on from her rumoured beef with Asisat Oshoala after asking Nigerians to vote for the Barcelona Femeni star at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Oparanozie and Oshoala were reportedly at loggerheads after the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Timeline of Oparanozie and Oshoala's beef

Oparanozie, who was the Super Falcons captain in the tournament, stood up for his teammates in their battle against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The recently retired footballer and the rest of the team threatened to boycott games at the 2019 FIFA World Cup unless they were paid their bonuses.

Although the matter was later resolved, Oparanozie was blacklisted from the team for about three years following the tournament.

However, Oshoala, who was also in the Super Falcons squad, failed to back her teammate, taking over the captain’s armband from her.

This reportedly led to a beef between the two parties. However, it appears Oparanozie has now moved on from the beef after urging Nigerians to go all out for Oshoala at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Oshoala has been nominated for the Best Women’s Player of the Year award, but she is currently far behind in the voting race, receiving just 6.5% of the votes so far.

Oparanozie has now urged Nigerians to vote en-masse to get her former Super Falcons teammate to the top.

The former Dijon attacker shared the voting link on her social media, urging Nigerians to vote Oshoala as the winner.

“Hello Nigerians, this isn't us at all. How is our girl  @asisat_oshoala not on top of the table? Below is your direct link to vote. Let it rain. Let's go,” Oparanozie posted this caption along with the voting link.

Nonetheless, Oshoala faces a tall order as she’s currently behind her Barcelona teammate, Aitana Bonmati, who leads the voting race with 49.2% of the votes.

The former Arsenal star is also behind Real Madrid and Colombia star Linda Caicedo, who is in second position, having received 9.6% of the votes.
