Ciro Immobile who suffered whiplash and a fractured rib when his automobile collided with a tram, has been discharged from the hospital after two days of observation.

Early last week, Lazio and Italy star Ciro Immobile was hospitalised after being involved in a car accident with a tram in Rome.  The incident happened on Sunday, with Immobile driving his two daughters through the city streets.

Immobile's automobile was crashed by the bigger vehicle; however, he was filmed commenting on the accident immediately after. Although he is reported to be "fine," he is currently being treated for back and rib injuries sustained as a result of the impact.

Investigation still going on the incident

An investigation is underway to determine what went wrong to cause this accident because both the footballer and the tram driver claim they had been given the all-clear to go.

Immobile claimed the Tram driver failed to obey the traffic light which led to the collision of both vehicles.

The Lazio star man missed the win over Spezia last Friday due to an accident and is also in doubt for their match against Torino, as he is being monitored by medical personnel.

Immobile’s daughter still being monitored

He was diagnosed with whiplash and an 11th rib compound fracture at the Gemelli hospital in Rome, but Immobile has now been discharged.

Immobile chose to stay on the hospital premises after being discharged, according to Radio Radio, because his daughter Michela, 10, is still being watched after suffering liver bruising that has raised some further concerns.

Eight-year-old Giorgia, who was in the car with her sister, was also sent home with a safety collar.
