Kayci has been at the heart of Leopards’ defence as the side have now won five games from six and has explained why they have been in such brilliant form.

AFC Leopards defender Kayci Odhiambo has explained why the club have been on a recent good run of form, which is helping them continue their surge up the table.

Ingwe have been on a roll since their win over Kakamega Homeboyz in December and have now gone unbeaten in their last six league games, with five of those being wins.

Speaking to Pulse Sports after their 2-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks despite being reduced to 10 men in stoppage time after Randy Bakari was sent off, Kayci explained why they have been unstoppable.

“Our issue was that at first, the team had not gelled but now, the performance has improved because people have now understood each other which has been the difference,” the ball-playing defender said.

The key to AFC Leopards' success seems to lie in the establishment of a close-knit and supportive team environment. Kayci elaborated on this aspect.

“We are treating AFC Leopards as a big family. Everyone is their brother’s keeper, willing to die for each other. Even on the pitch, you can see people covering for each other.

“When one person makes a mistake, another will step up and cover for the other and then correct each other afterwards.”

This sense of unity and mutual support extends beyond the playing field, creating a bond among the players that has significantly contributed to their resurgence.

As the players continue to understand and trust each other, their collective efforts on the pitch are translating into positive results, allowing AFC Leopards to climb up the league table.

Leopards will be hoping they can keep the run going when they face Murang’a Seal this weekend, seeking to make it five wins from six.
