Jay-Jay Okocha’s talents were picked alongside David Beckham’s and Gareth Bale’s skills by a Premier League legend.

Former Manchester United player Andy Cole has selected ex-Super Eagles star Austin Jay-Jay Okocha’s skills as one of his criteria in building his ideal Premier League player.

Cole namechecked Okocha’s talents when he was asked by TNT Sports to build his perfect Premier League player. The United picked Okocha for his flair and his football IQ when he was asked to choose a player for those specific purposes.

Cole also picked David Beckham’s right foot, Denis Irwin’s left foot, Gareth Bale’s speed, Didier Drogba’s big moment ability and his goal collection as part of his criteria in building the perfect Premier League player.

While he played with Beckham and Irwin at Man Utd, Cole never played with Okocha, which shows that he rates the former Super Eagles captain very highly.

Okocha- the talented genius

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain midfielder was the only player whose skills were picked twice by Cole, which is a testament to Okocha’s abilities as a player.

Okocha remains one of the most talented players to play the beautiful game. The ex-Nigerian international is known for his flair, skills and trickery on the ball, which often left opponents embarrassed.

Although he never played with Cole, Okocha spent four years in the Premier League with Bolton Wanderers, where he cemented himself as a cult hero and a club legend.

He made 124 Premier League appearances for the Trotters, scoring 14 goals and registering 11 assists. The 1994 AFCON winner also led the team to the League Cup final, although Bolton lost to Middlesbrough.
