Super Eagles' star Ademola Lookman is fully aware of the stakes as Nigeria gears up for a monumental clash against Cameroon this Saturday night at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.

This match-up, rich in history and rivalry, is more than just a game - it's a battle for continental bragging rights.

A Rivalry Renewed: Eagles vs. Lions

History is on Nigeria's side in this fierce rivalry, with the Super Eagles having a better head-to-head record in recent encounters.

However, Cameroon's Indomitable Lions, boasting five Africa Cup of Nations titles, are no strangers to success on the big stage. Their journey to the round of 16 this year has been a testament to resilience, with late goals propelling them past The Gambia.

Lookman's Call to Arms

Ademola Lookman, who switched his allegiance from England to Nigeria, is set to play a pivotal role in his first major tournament for the Super Eagles.

His comments to Hot Sports as reported by Allnigeriasoccer, capture the mood in the Nigerian camp, "Everybody knows the importance of the game so do I. It's a big, big game for us as a nation, as a team," Lookman emphasized the team's readiness and motivation for the showdown.
