A clearly annoyed Arthur Gitego has taken to social media to respond to reports he wants to ditch AFC Leopards in June.

AFC Leopards striker Arthur Gitego has dispelled rumors suggesting a potential move to Europe in June, affirming his commitment to the Kenyan club for the next two years.

Addressing speculations prior to his AFC Leopards stint, Gitego was linked with various European clubs, including Macedonian champions FC Shkupi, Georgian side FC Gagra, and Tunisia's CA Bizertin.

However, despite these enticing offers, Gitego opted to join AFC Leopards. With four goals under his belt, Gitego secured a spot in the Rwanda squad and was even called up for the recent international assignments.

Following his return from Rwanda, Gitego was quoted by Rwanda Times expressing his desire to move to a top European team in June

"My goal is that, in June, I would like to change the team, but of course, it has to be a top team. I would love to go somewhere higher because everything is possible if you pray, fight, believe, and wait for a chance."

However, Gitego has since clarified his position, refuting recent reports suggesting he was eager to depart AFC Leopards for a "top team" in June.

Taking to social media, Gitego expressed his perplexity regarding the origins of the rumors and reaffirmed his allegiance to AFC Leopards

"I don’t know how it started and I don’t know where it comes from. I don’t care. I want to let you know that I am here at Ingwe for two years; I am not going anywhere. I am happy here in the club; my heart, my soul, my energy, all are here. We are pushing to keep fighting to put the club where it belongs, to win trophies with the club."

Since his arrival in January, Gitego has left a notable mark, particularly highlighted by his hat-trick against PAC University in the League Cup and his contribution to Leopards' 2-0 victory over Nzoia Sugar in the FKF Premier League.
