Chelsea star Cole Palmer reacted after making Premier League history with a record-breaking first-half hat-trick in his side’s win over Wolves.

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has expressed delight after producing a historic first-half hat-trick in his side’s victory over Wolves, describing the performance as a timely boost amid a challenging, injury-affected season.

Palmer struck three times before the break, converting two penalties to cap a dominant first-half display. The feat saw the England international become the first player in the Premier League era to score three first-half hat-tricks.

What Palme said

Speaking after the match, Palmer was pleased with both the result and his personal contribution.

“It feels good to get three points and score some goals. It was a good one in difficult conditions today. As long as I can keep scoring hat-tricks, I’m happy,” he said.

The 23-year-old praised Chelsea’s early dominance but admitted the performance dipped after the interval.

“I think we did well in the first half. The second half was a bit flat, but personally it feels good to get back on the scoresheet,” Palmer added.

Despite setting a new Premier League record, Palmer insisted personal milestones are not his main focus.

“I don’t really pay attention to milestones, but when you see them, it’s nice,” he said.

Palmer also spoke candidly about the frustration of dealing with injuries for the first time in his professional career, revealing how fitness issues have affected his performances this season.

“I’ve never been injured before in my career. This is something new to me, and I’m still finding out how to deal with it. It has been frustrating. I don’t feel like I’ve played a game this season fully fit,” he explained.

He acknowledged that managing his condition has sometimes impacted his confidence on the pitch.

“I’ve been going into games thinking, ‘Can I do certain things? Can I not?’ Overthinking it,” Palmer admitted.

Chelsea will hope Palmer’s return to form signals a strong run ahead as they continue to build momentum in the league.
