Osimhen, who made his senior international debut under Rohr, has been in remarkable form since his move to the Turkish giants. After an initial season-long loan, the deal was made permanent during the recent summer transfer window.

While he has netted three times in eight Super Lig appearances, the 26-year-old has truly excelled on the European stage. Osimhen has scored an impressive six goals in just three Champions League matches for "Cimbom."

His performance against Ajax in Amsterdam, where he scored a stunning hat-trick to secure a 3-0 victory, broke several club and competition records. The feat drew widespread acclaim from figures like Ilkay Gundogan and John Ogu, with Rohr now adding his voice to the chorus of praise.

What Rohr said

Rohr, who now manages the Benin national team, lauded the striker's development into one of the world's elite forwards.

"He is undoubtedly one of the best centre-forwards in the world," Rohr told Africa Foot.

He added, "He's a true goalscorer who thrives in high-stakes matches. The Champions League, World Cup qualifiers, the Africa Cup of Nations, the Istanbul derbies… He loves a big atmosphere."

With nine goals already to his name across all competitions this season, Rohr believes Osimhen is on track for a prolific year.

"It's early November and he already has nine goals. At this rate, he should finish the season with around thirty goals to his name," the Franco-German coach added.

As Nigeria prepares for the World Cup playoffs, Super Eagles supporters will be counting on their star striker to carry his exceptional club form onto the international stage and lead the team to success.
