Former Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis has lauded Nigerian international Maduka Okoye, calling him one of the best goalkeepers he has ever played with.

Okoye's recent form has been impressive, including a standout performance in a 1-0 victory over AS Roma, where he made several key saves to earn a clean sheet.

His commanding displays have solidified his position at Udinese and strengthened his case for a continued role with the Nigerian national team.

Across a total of 64 competitive matches for the Italian club, the goalkeeper has accumulated 15 clean sheets across these appearances.

Davis, who now plays alongside Okoye at Serie A club Udinese, highlighted the goalkeeper's crucial role in the team's recent successes.

"Maduka is a very good goalkeeper. He was at Watford when I was there as well, so when I came here, obviously, I knew him," Davis told Ratings.

Okoye has established himself as Udinese's first-choice keeper, making a significant impact since breaking into the starting lineup. "He didn’t begin the start of the season with us, but he’s been playing since," Davis noted.

The English striker pointed to a specific match against Frosinone as a prime example of Okoye's value to the team.

Davis, who scored in that game, emphasized that the goalkeeper's performance was instrumental in securing the result.

"The game against Frosinone, where I scored, some people don’t remember but he was very good in this game… he helped us a lot," Davis recalled. "They had a lot of opportunities to score, and he saved us a lot."

Davis concluded with high praise, stating, "He’s obviously a top goalkeeper, definitely one of the best that I’ve played with."
