Erling Haaland has broken more UEFA Champions League records after scoring against RB Leipzig to help Manchester City to a stirring comeback

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland continues to defy logic after breaking two more UEFA Champions League records after his goal in the Cityzen’s 3-2 win over RB Leipzig.

Haaland haunts Leipzig again

Defending Champions League title holders Manchester City had to dig deep to rescue all three points against Leipzig at the Etihad Stadium after snatching a comeback 3-2 win despite going 2-0 at halftime.

The comeback was started by none other than talismanic striker Haaland, who scored his 12th goal against Leipzig in all competitions, including five in one game, which he netted against the Germans in last season’s UCL.

Haaland scored less than 10 minutes after the restart with a low drive into the bottom corner to kickstart Manchester City’s revival, which eventually resulted in a valiant comeback victory.

Haaland sets UCL records with Leipzig goal

In addition to the team achievement, Haaland also reached a personal milestone, scoring his 40th goal in the UEFA Champions League.

The Norwegian striker seems to break a new UCL record with every goal he scores and added two more to his tally after scoring his 40th goal in the competition after only 35 matches.

Haaland became both the fastest player to reach the mark after only 35 games and the youngest player to have scored 40 goals in the Champions League at only 23 years and 130 days, breaking a record previously held by Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.
