Alpha Onyango collected two man of the match awards as Harambee Stars reached the quater finals of CHAN 2024.
Gor Mahia midfielder Alpha Onyango has revealed his ultimate ambition following his heroics for Kenya’s Harambee Stars at the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN).
Onyango was among Harambee Stars’ most standout players, receiving two man-of-the=match awards against both DR Congo and Madagascar following his all action displays in the middle of the park as Kenya reached the quarter finals of the tournament.
It was a tournament that also saw him leave 5 million shillings richer, lifechanging money by Kenyan standards, and was further rewarded with a call up to the main side for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Gambia and Seychelles - both games set to be played at Kasarani Stadium in September.

CHAN 2024 Final: Millions Morocco and Madagascar Will Pocket as Curtain Comes Down at Kasarani
Morocco and Madagascar will contest the CHAN 2024 tournament final at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday but how much is in store for them?
Speaking to LTN Sports in a recent interview, the Kakamega High School alumnus explained what the two awards he received during the tournament meant for him.
“It was a fantastic feeling considering it was the first time we were taking part in this tournament, so to be named man of the match was a proud moment for myself,” Onyango said.
“Being named man of the match twice was an honor considering it was the first time we were playing in the tournament. It will hold long in my memory I think for the rest of my life.”
Onyango, who was born and raised in Makongeni, believes his heroics for Kenya will serve as a motivating factor for the rest.
