U-20 AFCON Flying Eagles settle down in Morocco

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have settled in Casablanca, Morocco for a one-week training camp.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have now touched down in Morocco for a one-week training camp in preparation for the under-20 AFCON.

The Ladan Bosso-led team arrived in Morocco and have settled in Casablanca where they will be training in a bid to familiarise themselves with the Northern African climate.

The under-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt kicks off on February 18 in Egypt and the Nigerian team is doing all it can to be fit.

Coach Ladan Bosso and wards are staying at the Novotel Hotel in Mohammedia, just outside Casablanca from where he expressed confidence in his team's ability.

“We have been able to sustain the same mood we had in camp before going for the WAFU B U20 Championship in Niamey, which we won," the coach said.

Bosso continued, "Since then, we have played a series of matches and scored plenty of goals, and that is immense for a winning mentality to stay within a team."

“However, we are not going to underrate any of our opponents. Defeating Zambia in Abuja was good for confidence but we know championship mood would be tougher," Bosso continued.

"We will be ready to do the country proud,” the former El Kanemi manager stated emphatically on the readiness of his boys to sustain their winning mentality when the tournament kicks off.

The 21-man squad in Morocco will prosecute the tournament in Egypt which starts for Nigeria with a game against Senegal on Sunday, February 19.
