Taiwo Lawal joined Turkish Women’s League outfit Atasehir Belediyespor.

Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere, has revealed that ex-Falconet striker Taiwo Lawal will rule the Turkish Women’s League.

Pulse Sports reports that Taiwo Lawal has joined Turkish Women’s League outfit Atasehir Belediyespor from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Robo Queens.

Lawal has represented Nigeria at the U-17 and U-20 levels, with her move to Atasehir Belediyespor marks her maiden professional venture abroad.

Olowookere has backed the player to shine in her new adventure and rule Turkish Women's Football.

He added that he is very happy that all her products are making waves after leading them to the U-17 Women's World Cup.

“I am sure she will excel in Turkey because she has what it takes, I only pray she’ll meet with coaches that can make good use of potential,” Olowookere told the punch.

“I am happy that all my products are making me proud. People who remember her performance in the 2020 U-17 team, our World Cup qualifier matches home and away, and her two fantastic goals at Agege Stadium, won’t be surprised by this move because she deserves it.

“She was also part of the festival squad in 2018. There are many of them that’ll soon come, most especially the team that went to India. I wish her all the best in her new journey.”

Lawal won the Golden Boot Award at the 2022 Betsy Obaseki Women’s Cup, scoring six goals in the competition.
