According to FIFA, three bids have been submitted for hosting the 2027 Women's World Cup.

South Africa, previously among the potential hosts as named by FIFA, has withdrawn from the 2027 bid. Instead, the nation is setting its sights on hosting the 2031 tournament.

Selection Process and Key Dates

The decision for the 2027 Women's World Cup host will be made through a vote at the FIFA Congress in Bangkok, slated for 17 May 2024. 

This comes after the 2023 World Cup, where Spain clinched victory against England in the final, held in Australia and New Zealand, as per BBC Sports.

In what FIFA describes as its most robust and comprehensive bidding process for the Women's World Cup, an extensive evaluation, including on-site inspections, will start in February. 

The outcomes of these evaluations will be presented in a bid evaluation report, which is expected in May.

Historical Hosting Insights

This bidding process is noteworthy, considering the upcoming 2026 men's World Cup co-hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada. 

The US has previously hosted the Women's World Cup in 1999 and 2003, while Germany was the host in 2011.
