With his contract running until June 2027 and no renewal agreed yet, the Brazilian has reaffirmed his happiness at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Vinicius ‘very happy’ despite uncertainty
Speculation about Vinicius’ future has grown amid the absence of a breakthrough in contract talks. However, the winger insists he remains content both professionally and personally in Madrid.
“I’m very happy. Playing for Real Madrid, having the life I have and my family makes me happy. Being happy on and off the pitch is the best,” he said in an interview with Ibai Llanos, as reported by Diario AS.
His improved form in recent weeks comes at a crucial moment, particularly following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2024, a transfer that initially appeared to affect Vinicius’ rhythm on the pitch.
Acting as ‘agent’ for Mbappe and Bellingham
While Mbappe’s move from Paris Saint-Germain made global headlines, Vinicius has now revealed he played a behind-the-scenes role in trying to bring the French superstar to Spain.
“Every summer I wrote to him: ‘When are you coming?’ I acted as an agent,” he admitted. “With Bellingham I did too. I want to play with the best to have more options to win.”
Vinicius also stressed the importance of chemistry within the squad, including with Jude Bellingham.
“We spend more time with each other than with our family. We have to have a good relationship,” he added, underlining his desire to build a winning environment alongside football’s elite.
