According to reports from Spanish sources, Kylian Mbappe has already put pen to paper to become a Real Madrid player this summer when he leaves Paris Saint-Germain

In a stunning turn of events, it appears that the long-speculated move of French football sensation Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid is no longer just a rumor.

Recent reports from Spain suggest that the 23-year-old forward has already signed a contract with the LaLiga giants, securing his future at the Bernabeu until 2029.

According to reputable sources, including Marca, Mbappe inked the deal with Real Madrid two weeks ago, signaling a significant commitment to the Spanish powerhouse. This revelation comes on the heels of Mbappe informing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) of his decision to leave the club this summer as his contract approaches its expiration.

Financial Terms of Mbappe’s Real Madrid deal

Marquee players often attract intense negotiations, and Mbappe's case is no exception. Madrid had reportedly reached out to Mbappe's representatives in the early days of the new year, receiving a positive response regarding his intention to join the club. However, it wasn't until February that full negotiations were initiated, emphasizing the club's eagerness to finalize the deal swiftly.

While initial reports indicated that Real Madrid was prepared to make Mbappe their highest earner, surpassing the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, it now seems the player may have to accept a pay cut. The club is reportedly willing to pay an £85.5 million signing-on fee and is also in discussions with Mbappe over the percentage of his image rights he will retain.

If the reports hold true, Mbappe is expected to earn between £12 million and £17 million annually at Real Madrid, a significant reduction from his reported £22 million yearly earnings at PSG. The willingness to take a pay cut demonstrates Mbappe's eagerness to embark on a new chapter with Los Blancos.

End of the Road for PSG

The report from Marca also claims that Mbappe's camp explicitly instructed PSG "not to bother" making further offers, signaling a resolute commitment to joining Real Madrid. The strained relationship between Mbappe and PSG had been evident for some time, with disagreements over contract extensions leading to tensions and Mbappe being relegated to training with the B team.

Despite Mbappe's imminent departure, PSG president Nassr Al-Khelaifi had expressed a desire for the star winger to remain with the club, asserting that Paris was the best fit for him. However, it appears Mbappe's decision to seek new horizons has brought an end to his remarkable tenure with the French club.

As details continue to emerge, fans eagerly anticipate Mbappe's official unveiling as a Real Madrid player and the beginning of a new chapter in his illustrious career.
