Bosso names Enyimba stars, ignores Beyond Limits wonderkids in Flying Eagles squad for African Games

Ladan Boss has picked his Flying Eagles squad for the All African Games with Enyimba's youngsters leading the way while no place for Beyond Limits duo.

Head coach Isah Ladan Bosso has named a 20-man Nigeria U-20 squad for the men's football event at the 13th African Games in Ghana.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Bosso has made some interesting decisions, with Beyond Limits stars Farouq Ogundare and Arierhi Kparobo missing.

Captain Daniel Bameyi, midfielder Daniel Daga of Enyimba and goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu are among the key players included in Bosso's squad.

Forwards Charles Agada and Olalekan Ibrahim have also been picked, along with defenders Musa Abdullahi and Godwin Sampson.

Midfielders Favour Izuogu, another Enyimba starlet, Ibrahim Idris and attackers Nasir Muhammed and Sunday Joseph are the other players called up.

The Flying Eagles depart Abuja for Ghana on Tuesday ahead of their Group B opener against Uganda on Thursday.

Nigeria will also face South Sudan, Senegal and Tunisia in the group stage, with matches being held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

Ghana, Congo, Benin Republic and Gambia make up Group A, with their games at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The African Games assignment is a key preparation event for Nigeria's U-20 side ahead of next year's U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.

Nigeria were runners-up at the last African Games football event in Morocco in 2019, losing the final to Burkina Faso.

Bosso hopes his talented young squad can go one better this time by claiming gold in Ghana.
