Tanzania's giants Young Africans managed to hold Medeama Sporting Club to a 1-1 draw while across the continent Al Ahly and CR Belouizdad played to a goalless deadlock in Cairo.

These results have breathed new life into Young Africans' campaign in Group D.

Medeama Sporting Club, playing as the home side on a spirited Friday night, looked determined to secure an early lead.

The Ghanaian Champions pushed forward relentlessly, displaying commendable football skills.

Their persistence paid off in the 26th minute when they were awarded a penalty.

Jonathan Sowah, the team's leading marksman, stepped up and coolly converted the spot-kick to give Medeama SC the lead.

With the wind in their sails, Medeama fans hoped for a second goal to provide a cushion, but their defense had other plans.

In a momentary lapse, they allowed Young Africans to level the score in the 36th minute when Peodoh Pacome Zouzoua struck a well-placed shot. The equalizer shifted the momentum, and both teams headed into the second half with the scoreboard level at 1-1.

Despite both sides giving it their all, the remainder of the match remained goalless.

The final whistle blew, and both teams had to settle for a point each. This result placed Medeama SC in second place in the Group D standings after three matches, while Young Africans remained at the bottom.

Meanwhile, in another match of the same group, Al Ahly faced off against CR Belouizdad in Cairo.

Expectations were high for Al Ahly, one of the powerhouses of African football, but CR Belouizdad had other plans.

The two teams battled it out intensely for 90 minutes, but neither side managed to break the deadlock.

The final score remained 0-0, leaving both teams with a point.

The outcome of the Al Ahly vs. CR Belouizdad clash brought a ray of hope for Young Africans.

Despite being at the bottom of the group, the draw between the group leaders, Al Ahly, and CR Belouizdad meant that the standings remained tightly packed.

With just a three more rounds to go, Young Africans have a lifeline to revive their CAF Champions League campaign.
