As per the norm, Real Madrid announced their matchday itinerary for the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid with a “Matchday” post on social media platform X, to get fans excited ahead of the crucial encounter.

The matchday announcement featured a graphic post with Real Madrid stars Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, and Nacho Fernandez, however, fans, especially those with a Nigerian background could not help but question the design elements featured in the picture.

In the picture along with the Real Madrid stars, Bellingham, Vinicius and Nacho was the setting of an office, with a laptop placed in front of the England international, leading fans to ask what the electronic device had to do with Real Madrid’s match against Atletico Madrid.

Some fans quickly made the connection between Bellingham’s use of a laptop and the increasingly popular internet fraud aka “Yahoo,” asking if the Real Madrid star was in need of money and had turned to the dark side.

In reality, Real Madrid’s post was likely a nod to electronic device manufacturers HP, who are part sponsors of the club and were being placed in the graphic for marketing purposes. ,
