Bayern Munich confirms talks with Ralf Rangnick for manager role amid fan petitions and Thomas Tuchel's focus on upcoming games.

Bayern Munich have confirmed they are in talks with former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick to potentially replace current coach Thomas Tuchel.

As Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso has extended his stay with the club, Bayern are now exploring other options to fill the managerial position.

During a recent press conference, Bayern's chief executive Uli Hoeness openly discussed the ongoing negotiations with Rangnick.

"Yes, there are talks ongoing with Ralf Rangnick," Hoeness disclosed as per Mirror.

"I think we will have a decision within a week."

This development comes amidst a strong reaction from the club's supporters, some of whom have even launched a petition urging the club not to proceed with Rangnick's appointment.

Despite the off-field discussions and fan petitions, Thomas Tuchel remains focused on the team's immediate goals.

With a clear strategy to keep distractions to a minimum, Tuchel emphasized the importance of the coming games.

"Even though this topic is good for me when they wish you to stay, it’s not something that is a priority and it isn’t allowed to be a priority," Tuchel stated.

The gaffer further highlighted the team's focus, "In the next 11 days, it’s only about football, nothing else. We want to achieve all we can and to gather as many points as possible in the Bundesliga to get the best result and to reach the final of the Champions League."

Tuchel’s comments underline his commitment to steering the team through a critical phase of the season.

"Whether it’s pleasant or unpleasant, I don’t allow myself to be influenced by it. We’re only focusing on every day counting towards our goals and there’s no exception," he insisted.
