Barcelona target Ilkay Gundogan’s agent has claimed that he was shocked by recent rumours suggesting that his client has agreed to a contract with the catalans.

The Manchester City midfielder who is out of contract in the summer is yet to agree on a contract extension with the Premier League side, and his imminent free transfer has attracted a number of teams, with Barcelona rumoured to be in pole position to snap up the German if he does not extend his stay with the Cityzens.
Gundogan’s agent took some time out to deny rumours that have circulated in recent weeks about his future, stating categorically that he had neither agreed an extension with Manchester City or a deal with any other club.

Ilhan also stated that the German midfielder is only focused on finishing the season well with
“It is not yet decided where he will play in the coming seasons. His only focus right now is on Manchester City”.
Gundogan has been an important part of Manchester City’s end to the season, scoring important goals against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League and Liverpool in the Premier League as the Cityzens chase a historic treble.
The midfielder has been at the forefront of Manchester City’s successes in recent seasons since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
He famously scored a brace for the Mancunians on the final day of the 2021/22 season to help them clinch the league title in dramatic fashion.
Despite being 32 years old, Gundogan is still seen as an integral part of the squad, and his quality in important moments means that he is an important prospect both for Manchester CIty and his suitors.
