According to reports, William Saliba has been withdrawn from the France team after sustaining a toe injury.

The north London club defeated Man City 1-0 at the Emirates on Sunday night to climb joint-top of the Premier League.

The French international was among the best players for the Gunners, having formed a solid partnership with Gabriel Magalhães.

Reports have now suggested that he will not be available for France during the international break having suffered a toe injury.

Saliba’s injury update

The French Football Federation has given an update on Saliba’s injury and has been asked to stay back at Arsenal due to a toe injury.

Saliba has been replaced by Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo following the injury, with the French Football Federation describing the player's issue as a 'chronic injury' in a statement.

The statement said, as reported by Daily Mail, “William Saliba is not able to participate in the gathering of the French team.

“The Arsenal defender suffers from pain in his right big toe. He will remain available to his club to treat this chronic injury.

“After speaking with Dr Franck Le Gall, the French team doctor, Didier Deschamps noted William Saliba’s withdrawal and decided to replace him with Jean-Clair Todibo.

“The latter is expected at Clairefontaine on Monday at noon, like all the selected players.”

Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka, who is expected to withdraw from Gareth Southgate's team after failing to recover from an injury he sustained in the first half of Tuesday's Champions League match against Lens, has joined Saliba in skipping the upcoming international schedule.
