Two members of Argentina's World Cup winning squad have urged team captain Lionel Messi to join them at LaLiga side Real Betis

Pezzella and Rodriguez have already played alongside Messi recently, winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina in Qatar, and the pair enjoyed the experience so much that they would be glad to play alongside the diminutive forward at the club level too.

Messi still needs to make a final decision on where his future lies when his current deal with PSG expires at the end of the current season, with the Argentine forward believed to be mulling over contract offers from Saudi Arabia as well as his former club Barcelona

Pezzella and Rodriguez have offered Messi another alternative: a place at LaLiga side Real Betis if their international captain is willing to join them.

Speaking with TyC Sports, the Real Betis duo made their feelings known about a possible move for Messi, with Pezzella saying, “We, at Betis, have opened the door for him. We have no problem. If he wants to come, we will let him.”

Despite Pezzella and Rodriguez’ tempting offer, Messi is likely to sign elsewhere, with rumours of an agreed-upon deal with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal making the rounds while Barcelona continue to push their financial limits to sign the 35-year-old forward.
