Tera was on song as Ararat overcame Shirak to move to second place, but fellow Kenyan international Amos Nondi failed to feature.

Harambee Stars midfielder Alwyn Luheni Tera featured as Ararat Armenia had enough about them to overcome Shirak and move to second place in the Armenian Premier League on Saturday.

Nondi started on the bench, while Tera started in midfield as Ararat sought to get back to winning ways after losing their last league match, which had dented their hopes of catching up to leaders Pyunik in the race for the title.

Tera clocked 58 minutes under his belt and was a goal and creative threat throughout the match. He recorded an expected goals ratio of 0.02 and an assist ratio of 0.44.

He completed 19 of his 22 attempted passes, and completed one accurate cross. He created one big chance, and produced one shot on target.

Defensively, he was stellar, winning seven of his 12 grounds now, as well as complete both of his attempted duels.

Ararat opened the scoring in the 61st minute through Leo, who got on the end of an assist from Johnathan Duarte.

The provider for the first would prove to be the scorer for the second which gave them a much deserved 2-0 win heading into the international break.

Tera’s teammate and fellow Kenyan international Amos Nondi failed to feature in the match, but it is expected he will take part in both Harambee Stars’ World Cup qualifying games against Seychelles and Gabon over the next fortnight.
