Several European clubs are chasing the Harambee Stars left back, according to numerous Swedish outlets, with the full back expected to leave AIK during the winter.

AIK director of football Thomas Bernsten has revealed the circumstances that could lead to Harambee Stars defender Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma’s departure amidst interest from a host of clubs in Europe’s top five leagues.

Ouma was linked with a move from AIK during the summer - but the Allsvenskan club is said to have rejected several bids for the fullback, including one from Espanyol back in September.

It has previously been reported that there is much evidence that the 27-year-old will leave AIK this winter.

“ We'll see what we do, but I'm not going to go into specific names,” Bernsten started when asked about which players were candidates to leave the club.

“ What we do know is that some will leave and some will be sold. Then we will bring in about six players who will strengthen our core squad of 14-15 men. That is the goal,”  said Berntsen to Sportbladet.

“AIK is a big club, but it's not like we're throwing money away. Of course we will certainly sell players and AIK is an attractive club.

“Players know about that. But we don't want players to come here because it's pleasant and nice in Stockholm.”

The interest in Europe seems to be great, at least if the information from Swedish outlet Expressen is to be believed .

The outlet states that several clubs are showing interest in Otieno, including in Spain and France.

According to the newspaper, several of the clubs must be prepared with concrete offers, and AIK must be willing to make a deal at the right price.

Otieno joined the Allsvenskan club from Vasalunds IF ahead of the 2020 season.

He scored one goal and registered three assists in 26 Allsvenskan appearances  this season.

The 39-cap Harambee Stars defender has been linked to Leicester City, Manchester City and Crystal Palace in the past.

AIK finished in eleventh place in the Allsvenskan this season.
