In Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals, Kristaps Porzingis returned in style as the Boston Celtics dominated the Dallas Mavericks.

In Game 1 of the NBA Finals on the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 107-89, with Jaylen Brown leading six players in double digits with 22 points and Kristaps PorziņĿis scoring 20 points in his first game in more than a month.

The Celtics, who are vying for their 18th NBA championship, moved to 13-2 in the playoffs with their eighth straight victory led by Jayson Tatum, who finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Derick White, who scored 15 points.

After sitting out his first game since April 29 because of a strained right calf, Porzingis came off the bench and instantly lit up the court.

In 21 minutes, he finished with three blocks and six rebounds.

While Kyrie Irving, a former Celtic, scored just 12 points on 6-of-19 shooting and missed all five of his 3-point attempts, Luka Dončić finished with 30 points and 10 rebounds.

Dallas' scoring total was its lowest of the postseason, with only nine assists on 35 field goals.

As the Mavericks prepare to return to Dallas in a tied series against the Celtics, Game 2 takes place in Boston on Sunday night.
