Nigeria's Ime Udoka gets another chance with the Houston Rockets.

Ime Udoka of Nigeria was announced as the Houston Rockets' head coach after serving a ban this season for the disclosure of an inappropriate relationship with a female assistant.

Owner Tilman Feritta maintains that Udoka is everything the Houston Rockets were looking for in a coach and that they are not worried about the actions that resulted in his one-year ban from the Boston Celtics.

Fertitta vehemently defended his new hire when questioned about the views of certain supporters who don't believe Udoka deserves a second opportunity given what occurred in Boston.

He said, “They’re not a good Christian person if somebody thinks that.

“We’re a forgiving society and everybody makes mistakes.

"And some things maybe we shouldn’t forgive people for but, but I think what happened in his personal situation is definitely something we forgive for.”

Udoka stated he is sorry for what he did, but he did not go into detail about what occurred in Boston.

Udoka who was linked with the Toronto Raptor job claimed to have spent the previous year trying to improve both himself and his connection with his son Kez, who is 11 years old.

Stephen Silas, who was sacked after three terrible seasons, gets replaced by 45-year-old Udoka, who led the Celtics to the NBA Finals in his lone season there.

The Rockets ended tied with the Spurs for the second-worst record this season and had the poorest record across the previous two campaigns, giving them another lottery choice in the upcoming draft.
