Amid controversies surrounding her in the past few weeks, Sha'Carri Richardson will return to racing at the Silesia Diamond League.

American sprint queen Sha'Carri Richardson is set to return to race action this weekend at the Silesia Diamond League on Saturday, August 16.

The reigning world 100m champion who has been in a controversy for the past few weeks on account of domestic violence assault against boyfriend Christian Coleman, will aim to put her setbacks behind her when she races a stacked women's 100m field.

Top of the list is world leader Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who'll be making her European debut this season and will be aiming for another impressive win after her outstanding performance at the US Championships, where she blazed to a jaw-dropping personal best of 10.65s for her second career national title.

Also expected to pose a great challenge in Silesia is Africa's fastest woman in history Marie Jose Ta Lou-Smith. She has been on an unbeaten run of form in her past few races and will gun to extend this against her younger counterparts.

The Clayton sisters (Tia and Tina) are also a formidable force capable of snatching a major win on their very good day, and won't be pushovers in the lineup.

With Richardson yet to go under the sub-11s mark this season, the Olympic silver medallist will surely put up a fight for a good position and fast time, which'd be vital in building her confidence for the rest of the season and ahead of defending her world title in Tokyo next month.
