Star girl Favour Ofili has officially kicked off her individual 2023 season, racing to the fastest time in the world this year at the Razorback Invitational in Arkansas.
The Louisiana State University (LSU) junior student clocked a brilliant time of 22.53s to win the 200m event, ahead of Talitha Diggs (University of Florida) in 22.65s.
Her time is also an NCAA-leading one, erasing Rasheedat Adeleke's (University of Texas) 22.59s set last week.
Ofili, who has the African Record (AR) of 22.46s, is surely in good shape to smash her record and perhaps rise to the top 10 on the all-time world list.
With her arch-college rival Abby Steiner now a professional athlete and no longer competing in the college circuit, the spotlight will be on Ofili to dominate the 200m event smashing records in the process.

The 20-year-old is will be gunning to run fantastic times indoors as she set her sights on winning the prestigious Bowerman award, which is the highest honour given to the best college athlete.
Meanwhile, Godson Brume raced to a Personal Best (PB) of 21.50s in the men's 200m, and Ella Onojuvwevwo competing in her second indoor 200m race of the season, clocked a new PB of 24.11s.
