Running in her first race of the year, Amusan first clocked 7.91s for an effortless win in the qualifying 60m Hurdles heat, before coming back less than an hour later to blast to an impeccable time of 7.77s for victory in the final at the World Athletics Indoor Tour in Astana, thus defeating a stacked field that includes former world champion Nia Ali.

This time smashed Glory Alozie's previous AR and Nigerian Record of 7.82s set in 1999 and propelled her to second on the world list behind Devynne Charlton's 7.75s.
Also, it is her fastest season opener and makes a bold statement of the form she's currently in ahead of the World Indoor Championships and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which she'll be gunning to win both titles for the first time in her career.
