The championship serves off on May 24 and will end on May 27 at the Eko Club, Surulere, Lagos.

The organizers of the Reis Table Tennis Tournament have confirmed that the second edition will be held at the Eko Club, Surulere, Lagos.

The championship serves off on May 24 and will end on May 27.

Reis Table Tennis Tournament to discover Talents - Founder

The Founder and Convener, Olaseni Reis, said that the championship will be used to discover talents.

Reis disclosed this at a media parley to unveil the three-day contest.

He added the winner of the male category will go home with N250,000 while the female will get N150,000.

“This edition is organized and dedicated to promoting youth development and social engagement through table tennis. This tournament is an initiative conceived to use table tennis as a rallying point for social engagement and youth development.

“It is a platform for young people to showcase their skills, develop their potential and promote values that chisel out individuals that can be further nurtured into assets to the development of the sport in the grassroots level and ultimately the nation Nigeria.

“I’m glad to tell you this year’s edition will help promote lads and lead to scholarship level. We’ve opened a trust fund for 10 outstanding players and I am sure it will go a long way.

“Winner of the male contest will walk away with N250,000 while the female will get N150,000,” he said.

Also commenting on the championship, the Chairman of Eko Club, Razaak Amodu, reiterated the club’s readiness to host players taking part in the competition, adding that members of the club are ready to support and also participate in the challenge.

“We are also involved in this competition because we know the importance of sports. We are battle ready to clinch any available trophy and I’m sure my members won’t disappoint me.”

Pulse Sports reports that Quadri Aruna, will lead his African compatriots, Omar Assar and Dina Meshref, to the World Table Tennis (WTT) Championships in Xinxiang.
