Wheelchair Basketball gets multi-million naira sponsorship

The President, Seyi Johnson confirmed that the deal is with the Sports betting company, BetKing.

The Wheelchair Basketball Federation of Nigeria (WBF) has confirmed that the federation has sealed a multi-million sponsorship deal.

The contract was mediated by the renowned sports marketing firm Nilayo Sports Management Limited.

The Wheelchair Basketball Federation and BetKing signed a three-year, multi-million Naira sponsorship agreement, according to the deal's specifics.

Speaking on the deal, the President of the WBF, Seyi Johnson said that the deal, which is a significant one, will undoubtedly aid the WBF new board's efforts to rebrand.

Johnson praised BetKing for helping the Federation out financially and added that the athletes would stand to gain the most.

Seyi added that he is confident that the Federation will take advantage of the wave of cooperation to cheer on Nigerians at the next African Para Games in September and other international competitions.

The sports marketer said, “This deal has opened a new chapter in the game of wheelchair basketball after the loss of sponsors in the last decade.

“I want to thank every member of the Federation for the confidence reposed in me to lead the Wheelchair Basketball and it is my aspiration we surpass previous records set by my predecessors", he added.
