Eta Paul Oghenekaro, a Delta State-born wordsmith and current West African Scrabble Champion, has won the Asaph Zadok National Championship, which concluded on Wednesday in Abuja.
Before defeating a highly strong field that includes four former national champions of the prized NSF Green Jacket and thirty other players in the Masters' division, the 2005 champion also placed second in seven earlier editions.

Oshevire Avwenagha, the leader of Team Nigeria, finished in fourth place behind Umukoro Oghomaria, who finished with 18 victories and a cumulative of 637 points.
