The championship is the third to be postponed due to Naira and fuel scarcity.

The Nigeria Cricket Federation has postponed the National U-17 Cricket Championship finals.

The Finals, which were previously scheduled for February 15th to 19th, 2023, have been postponed.

In a release, the federation said the championship has been postponed indefinitely.

The release said further that new dates would be released for the championship soon.

According to the statement, "This is to formally notify all states and regions that the proposed 4th edition of the National U-17 Cricket Championship powered by PwC earlier stated for February 15th to 19th, 2023 has been postponed due to the current situation across the country and the national elections coming up.

"New dates will be released as soon as the new schedule is confirmed. We apologize for any inconvenience the postponement might cause."

Imo State won the South-East region in the boys' category, and Ebony won in the girls' category.

Edo State won both the boys' and girls' categories in the South-South region, Kwara State won the girls' category in the North-Central region, and Kogi State boys won in the boys' category.

Oyo State won both the boys' and girls' categories in the south-west region.

Pulse Sports also reported that the annual junior edition of the Central Bank Tennis (CBN) tournament was also postponed over the scarcity of Naira notes and fuel.

The organizers of the Evolution Cup have also postponed the 2023 edition of the Nationwide League One (NLO) preseason tournament.
