Another legal battle for McGregor over alleged NBA Incident
)
This latest lawsuit arrives as McGregor’s fighting career remains in limbo.
His last appearance in the Octagon was in 2021, ending abruptly due to a leg injury sustained during his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.
A highly anticipated return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in 2024 never materialised after McGregor withdrew, citing a broken toe.
Adding to his woes, a civil jury in Ireland recently found McGregor liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in 2018, resulting in a $257,000 compensation order.
Now, allegations from the 2023 NBA Finals have resurfaced, threatening to further tarnish his reputation.
The alleged assault reportedly took place at Miami’s Kaseya Center during a game between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets on June 9, 2023.
According to the lawsuit, McGregor is accused of sexually assaulting a 49-year-old woman in a bathroom at the arena.
Although the incident made headlines at the time, no immediate legal action followed.
The Athletic reports that the woman, described as “a Senior Wall Street Vice President at a high-profile financial institution,” is now seeking compensation for medical treatment, damages, and additional relief.

McGregor denies sexual assault allegations

Barbara Llanes, McGregor’s lawyer, has strongly denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit “a new false story.”
Llanes remarked, “Almost two years and at least three lawyers later, the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case too will be dismissed.”
The Miami Heat and Kaseya Center, both named in the lawsuit, have not issued statements regarding the matter.
Despite the mounting legal troubles, McGregor has attempted to reignite fan interest in his fighting career.
UFC CEO Dana White has yet to comment on the legal proceedings but hinted at plans for McGregor’s return to the Octagon in the near future.
