The Nigerian Nightmare is ready to face the man that took the UFC title from him.

Nigerian and American professional mixed martial artist Kamarudeen Usman has broken the silence on his return to the octagon.

The 35-year-old Usman suffered a loss in his last outing to British MMA star Leon Edwards.

Edwards produced a stunning overhead kick to knock out Usman and claim the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title.

Usman dominated the fight and was up on the judges' scorecard before Edwards produced the knockout win at UFC 278 held at the Vivint Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah last August.

Since Usman lost the fight and his title, there has been little to no information from his camp.

Usman vs Edwards

UFC president Dana EWhite announced in January that there would be an immediate rematch between Usman and Edwards.

The fight came as a shock to many UFC fans as reports from Usman's camp suggested that he is severely injured.

Since the fight was announced, Edwards has stated his intention to repeat his performance and retain the UFC welterweight title.

Usman on the other hand has been silent as reports continued to fly about the possibility of him pulling out before the event.
