Premier League duo who rejected Super Eagles called up by England to battle Andorra and Senegal
England manager Thomas Tuchel has called up Premier League duo Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, both previously snubbing Nigeria, for the upcoming matches against Andorra and Senegal, while Manchester United players, including Harry Maguire, were notably omitted.
The Arsenal versatile hasn’t played for England since leaving the squad during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for personal reasons, with some reports suggesting a disagreement with former assistant manager Steve Holland.
However, Tuchel explained that White’s absence from the latest camp is due to the imminent arrival of his baby.

“He made very strong progress and was involved in the latest matches of Arsenal, which I was very delighted to see,” Tuchel said.
“We talked and we decided that, at the moment, it is not the moment because he will become a father very soon. The baby is due to arrive on the exact date of the camp.
“This is his first child, and we wish him and his wife all the best for that. We thought that, if he comes back, he should come back with a clear mind and a free mind, a full focus on football, which is now not the case.”
When asked if White is ready to return to the England setup in the future, Tuchel was clear: “Yes, 100 per cent.”
