Raphinha's statistical output for the season was exceptional, with 18 goals and 9 assists in 36 La Liga appearances, and a total of 34 goals and 22 assists across 57 matches in all competitions.

He was also named La Liga's Player of the Season for 2024-25.

What Deco said

Speaking in a new interview with Romario on the 'Face to Face' program, Deco lauded Raphinha's contribution to Barcelona's highly successful 2024-25 campaign, which saw them clinch the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles.

He said, "Raphinha gives you a lot with his character. First, because he always fights. Second, because he has a profile that helps Lamine, Pedri, and all the younger generation at Barça.

He added, “Raphinha, like Iñigo or Lewandowski himself, does. Raphinha has a character that contributes a lot. That’s why we made him captain, and he feels like a leader. He had a fantastic season.”

Raphinha was appointed as Barcelona's fifth captain, a decision reportedly influenced by his strong relationship with Deco and the belief that he could facilitate better communication within the squad.
