Thomas Tuchel expressed anger after England's performance led to a humiliating defeat against Senegal.

Thomas Tuchel has described England’s team as 'frozen' following a surprising 3-1 loss to Senegal, a result that has quickly sparked debate.

Harry Kane had given the Three Lions an early lead with his 73rd international goal, but Ismaila Sarr equalised just before half-time.

Habib Diarra then put the Lions of Teranga ahead, and substitute Cheikh Sabaly added a third goal in added time, completing England's misery.

Tuchel’s England assessment

Following his first defeat as England boss, Tuchel expressed his disappointment at the humbling setback to Senegal in Nottingham.

The Three Lions were met with boos from the supporters at the City Ground, reflecting the mood after the setback to the one-time African champions.

“Felt a bit frozen, not active enough for a long time over the match,” declared Tuchel. “We go into a long break with a bad feeling. It's a disappointing result. I’m not sure if we did not deserve a little bit more result-wise.

“We conceded two very cheap goals and then had big chances to equalise.

"We didn’t … so the result is the result. It is tough learning at the moment because we hate to lose.”

What’s next for England?

Tuchel's Three Lions return to World Cup qualifying action in September when they host Andorra on the 6th before travelling to face Serbia three days later.
