After progressing in Madrid, Norwegian star Casper Ruud took a moment to recognise Liverpool's impressive Premier League title win, echoing "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Norwegian tennis star Casper Ruud celebrated Liverpool's Premier League success after his Madrid Open victory over Sebastian Korda.

Ruud beat Korda 6-3, 6-3 in the Masters third-round match to secure passage to the fourth round.

However, the 12-time ATP Tour champion paid tribute to Arne Slot's Reds, who dispatched Spurs 5-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool claim 20th English top-flight title

Liverpool needed a draw against Ange Postecoglou’s team to clinch their first success since 2020, but thrashed the North London visitors despite falling behind to Dominic Solanke’s header.

The Reds responded with three first-half goals through Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo before Mohamed Salah and a Destiny Udogie own goal completed the afternoon for the Merseyside hosts.

Slot’s men clinching the title means that Liverpool have tied Manchester United for 20 top-flight crowns in English football, though they have only been successful twice in the Premier League era.

Ruud recognised this after his straight-set win over Korda, highlighted by his message after advancing to the fourth round in Madrid.

What’s next for Liverpool?

With Liverpool no longer in the Champions League, the Reds’ only ambition is to accrue maximum points from their final four fixtures against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Crystal Palace, against whom they should receive guard of honours.
