According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have been quietly admiring the Super Eagles talisman for some time. Currently lighting up the Turkish Süper Lig with Galatasaray, where he’s on a season-long loan from Napoli.

Osimhen has been in scintillating form, bagging an astonishing 28 goals and five assists in just 32 appearances. His blend of athleticism, pace, and predatory finishing has made him one of Europe’s most coveted forwards and a perfect fit for Arne Slot’s high-octane system.

Liverpool’s interest comes as no surprise. With the futures of attacking stars Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota hanging in the balance, the Reds are bracing for potential departures in the summer.

Arne Slot, who has transformed Liverpool into a relentless winning machine, is reportedly on the hunt for a No. 9 who can lead the line with power and precision.

While names like Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, and Lille’s Jonathan David have been floated, Osimhen’s name carries a special weight.

“[Victor] Osimhen is another player Liverpool have admired for some time and a similar profile,” Sky Sports reported. “He’s set to be back on the market when his loan at Galatasaray ends, and he returns to Napoli, where he was unwanted by Antonio Conte last summer. There’s no reason to think that stance has changed.”

Osimhen’s journey to this point has been nothing short of dramatic. After falling out of favor under Conte at Napoli, where he still has one year left on his contract, the 26-year-old Nigerian hitman was nearly snatched up by Chelsea last summer.

The Blues pushed hard, only to balk at Napoli’s £100m-plus valuation as deadline day chaos unfolded. Now, with his price tag likely dipping and his hunger for a Premier League move well-documented, the stage is set for a blockbuster transfer battle.

For Liverpool, Osimhen ticks all the boxes. Standing tall and dominant in the air, he combines raw physicality with blistering speed and a clinical eye for goal, attributes that could elevate an attack already brimming with talent.

His standout performances in Turkey have only sharpened his appeal, proving he’s more than capable of thriving under pressure. But the Reds won’t have it easy.

Victor Osimhen was a handful for Fenerbahce's defenders.

Chelsea, still licking their wounds from last summer’s near-miss, are expected to reignite their pursuit. Other European heavyweights could also enter the fray, drawn by Osimhen’s rare combination of youth, experience, and firepower.

For Liverpool, the challenge will be balancing their summer spending, already set to include goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and potentially bolstered by defensive targets like Marc Guehi and Milos Kerkez, with a statement signing up top.

As the Premier League leaders bask in their current dominance, the groundwork for next season’s assault is well underway. Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker tearing up defenses in Istanbul, could be the final piece in Arne Slot’s Anfield puzzle.
