Legendary Napoli striker discussed Victor Osimhen's future at Napoli.

Former Napoli striker Bruno Giordano wants Napoli to reinstate Victor Osimhen, as he believes adding the Nigerian ace to the title-winning team created by Antonio Conte would make the Partenopei favourites to defend their title and compete for the Champions League.

The 26-year-old is still on the books of Napoli but spent last season on loan at Galatasaray after he failed to secure a high-profile move last summer. His relationship with the club's hierarchy collapsed during that period, and he had to leave on loan.

What Giordano said

Giordano was a striker in the first Napoli squad to win the Serie A title in the 1986/87 season and knows firsthand the importance of proven goalscorers in title-winning sides.

With Osimhen's future unresolved at this point of the summer and preseason fast approaching, there have been suggestions that the Partenopei might keep the Nigerian, and Giordano appreciates that idea.

"They would be even stronger, almost invincible," he said, per Tribal Football. “It would be a great coup for Napoli. Because with the tough defence we saw last year and a stellar attack, nothing would become impossible.

Victor Osimhen was named Most Valuable Player in the Turkish league.

"For Napoli, it would mean sending a very strong message to the world. If you also add Osimhen to this team, it becomes unbeatable in Italy and would also be scary in Europe."

Meanwhile, Jesse Marsch, head coach of the Canadian national team, has made a bold claim that Juventus should pair Jonathan David and Victor Osimhen to get "at least 50 goals" per season.
