According to Daily Mail, Asencio has dismissed his previous legal counsel, Juango Ospina, and appointed Alfonso Morales Camprubí, a seasoned criminal lawyer affiliated with Real Madrid's in-house legal team.
Morales Camprubí previously represented the club in a case involving racial abuse directed at Vinícius Júnior during a La Liga match against Valencia in May 2023.

Asencio has consistently denied any participation in the recording or distribution of the video.
The Spanish centre-back asserts that he was not present during the incident and that upon learning of the video's existence, he urged his teammates to delete it.
Despite these claims, a judge at the Gran Canaria High Court has decided to proceed with the investigation, citing sufficient evidence to support allegations of violation of privacy and distribution of explicit material without consent.
The case has garnered significant public attention, with the mother of the 16-year-old girl filing a complaint that led to the arrests of Asencio and his former teammates in September 2023.
